Hi, I'm Holly Vollor, and this little club started in the most unexpected, wonderful way. In late summer 2025, a couple of friends and I wanted to learn Mahjong. I asked my sister, Ellen Whitaker, to teach us, thinking it would be a small, simple gathering.

Well… word got out. By the time of our very first lesson, what started as two or three curious beginners had grown into a full house—16 students and 4 teachers gathered around the tables. Unintentionally, that day became our very first "Home Mahjong."

Since then, we've kept the tradition going with monthly gatherings, and they've become something we all truly look forward to. Each one has its own special feel, shaped by the home and the host, and we're so grateful to those who open their doors to all of us. We rotate each month and haven't yet met in the same home twice, which keeps things fresh and fun.

What began as a small group has now grown into a community of over 50 members. I fell into this role, but I'm truly honored to be here. I'm always looking for ways to make our group even better while keeping the heart of it the same—welcoming, kind, and centered on connection.
